Dr. Iyad Dayoub earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Damascus University in 2002 before relocating to the UK. In London, he underwent rotations in Orthopaedics and General Surgery, completing Parts 1 & 2 of the MRCS Examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Specialising in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Dr. Dayoub has diverse experience across sectors such as offshore oil & gas, resource, refinery, construction, civil contracting, transport, logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution. His advisory services cater to corporate entities, insurers, self-insurers, insurance lawyers, and fellow health professionals. His extensive medical background includes rotations in Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics, and General Surgery, where he handled various neurosurgical and musculoskeletal conditions.

In 2006, Dr. Dayoub transitioned to Australia, working in the Emergency Departments of Tasmanian hospitals. He later moved to Perth in 2007, initiating a surgical rotation at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. His commitment to professional development led him to complete a postgraduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety at Edith Cowan University in 2013. Furthermore, he fulfilled the training requirements for Occupational and Environmental Medicine, becoming a member of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM).

Dr. Dayoub’s notable achievements include being honoured with the Ramazzini Prize for the best scientific paper and presentation at the Royal College of Physicians (RACP) Annual Scientific Meeting in Adelaide in 2016.

Dr Heng Tan is a distinguished Consultant Occupational Physician, specialising in Medicolegal assessments and consultations within Occupational and Environmental Medicine. With qualifications such as MBBS from the University of Western Australia and a Fellowship from the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM), Dr. Tan brings over 12 years of profound experience in occupational medicine, with a specific focus on musculoskeletal medicine and multidisciplinary injury management.

Dr. Tan’s medicolegal expertise is showcased through his comprehensive independent assessments, where he meticulously evaluates various facets of claims, including causation, liability, treatment, and recovery. His assessments are enriched by a deep understanding of legal frameworks such as the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act and the Work Health and Safety Act, cultivated through professional interactions with legal experts and continuous learning.

Dr Andrew Thomson | Occupational Physician

Dr Andrew Thomson grew up in Perth graduating from a Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging. He worked in WA and the UK as a radiographer before changing career path and studying medicine in 2009.  Dr Thomson graduated from Notre Dame University Australia with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in 2012 and completed intern and residency training in WA and NSW respectively. Dr Thomson has been involved with process redesign through the WA Health clinical Service Improvement Program and been a member of the Notre Dame University Health Research Ethics Committee.  In addition to clinical training, he has completed a Master in Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) and Master in Business Administration.

In 2017, he began specialising in occupational and environmental medicine and final year of training. He completed a postgraduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. He is a Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) Authorised Health Practitioner (AHP).

Dr Andrew Thomson has worked in Occupational Medicine since 2017 and is experienced in workplace assessments, fitness for work assessments, health surveillance, injury management and corporate medical advisory.

Dr Jessica Johnson | Occupational Physician

Dr Johnson completed her undergraduate degree in medicine at UWA in 2002. She has worked in a wide range of clinical settings and became a fellow of the royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2015. She started working in the field of occupational medicine in 2017, providing occupational health and medical services to a wide range of industry clients.  She is a fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and an Approved Permanent Impairment Assessor with WorkCover WA.

Dr Michael Bowles | Occupational Physician

Dr Michael Bowles graduated from UWA in 1988 and completed a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety at Curtin University. He became a Fellow of the Australian Faculty of Occupational Medicine in 1996.

He has been working in Occupational Medicine since 1990 and has completed over 30,000 independent medical examinations to date! He has owned and/or worked at a number of medicolegal providers and was Medical Advisor at Rio Tinto between 1996-2020. He has worked at various times as an Independent Medical Examiner and Approved Specialist in NSW, Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

He regularly visits Bunbury, Albany, Geraldton and Broome and elsewhere on request. He is trained in AMA4, 5 and 6 and is a WA Workcover APIA approved examiner.

Dr Bowles’ services include independent medical examinations, permanent impairment assessments, site visits, file reviews, research reviews, and presentations and training. His interests include complex cases and chronic pain.

When not at work, Dr Bowes is an avid participant in running, cycling, surfing, foiling, golf and fishing.

Dr Lok is an Occupational and Environmental Medicine clinician with over a decade of clinical experience in Western Australia, and currently a Stage C registrar with the RACP.  Additional qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME) and Approved Permanent Impairment Assessor for WorkCover WA.

Dr Adebola Adeiye is an experienced Occupational and Environmental Medicine Registrar with over a decade of dedicated occupational health practice across mining, industrial, aviation, and oil & gas. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine from the University of Otago.
Dr Adeiye is a CASA-designated Aviation Medical Examiner, a Certified Independent Medical Examiner, having completed (AMA5 Guides) training with the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners, and is an Approved Permanent Impairment Assessor with WorkCover WA, regularly conducting permanent impairment ratings for work-related injuries.

Dr Thea Leman | Occupational Physician (AFOEM) – Registrar

Dr Leman is a highly experienced Perth-trained medical practitioner, who graduated from Notre Dame University Fremantle in 2010. She has worked in a variety of hospital based medical and surgical specialities with a special interest in infectious diseases and acute care.
Dr Leman commenced practice in Occupational Medicine in 2018 and completed a Graduate Diploma in Occupational and Environmental Health at Monash University in 2022.


She has provided the full scope of occupational medicine services to various industry clients with extensive experience in mining, oil & gas, healthcare and the rail setting. She is now a Senior Occupational Physician Registrar, nearing completion of AFOEM fellowship. Dr Leman has a particular industry in complex injury management and on site delivery of occupational medicine in the remote setting.
